With 13 diurnals and 6 nocturnal, primates are exceptionally well presented in this country. On this safari you will meet the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, in western Uganda where gorillas are residents and they are over 320 gorillas in this rain forest almost half of the the world’s remaining gorillas. Gorillas are the Biggest of all the primates where an adult weighs up 210 kg and 1.8m in height. Bwindi also has a wide range of other primates like baboons and monkeys and over 350 bird species including, beautiful flamingos, Pink Backed Pelican, black bee eater, shoebill, Eagle owl, white – tailed Lark, Papyrus Gonolek and Canary, corncrake, lasser, bar tailed Godwit, African skimmer, Martial Eagle, Black rumped Buttonquail, at Kazinga channel banks

Chimpanzees, these are distinctive black coated apes that like gorillas, and baboons share more than 97% of genetic code with humans but most close to humans especially behaviour wise like chimp daughters only leave their mothers only after maturity and sons are closer to their mothers even after 40 years, you will track these interesting primates in Kyambura Gorge, a rain forest in Queen Elizabeth national park. You will also meet Olive Baboons, red tailed, vervet , L’ Hoests monkey black and white colobus monkeys in Queen Elizabeth national park. In addition to the primates, the park is endowed by big game of close or more than 5000 hippos, 2500 elephants, 10, 000 buffalo, warthogs ,elusive semi aquatic Sitatunga antelopes, Uganda Kobs, topi , water bucks,more than 20 species of African carnivals including lions, spotted Hyenas, side stripped jackals and leopards.

Day 1: Kampala/ Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the morning after your breakfast, you will meet your driver guide who will brief you about your safari and afterwards start your safari with transferring to Queen Elizabeth National park in western Uganda, through Masaka - Mbarara high way, you will make a stopover for the equator experience at the Kayabwe , in the afternoon at Igongo cultural centre for lunch and continue, this safari trip takes about 8 hours, traversing through the beautiful topography of Rwenzori ranges that give a beautiful scenery, you will reach in the evening check in and freshen up, have dinner and overnight at; Pumba Safari cottages, Enganzi Safari lodge and Mweya safari lodge, lowest, Midrange and luxury respectively.

Highlights of the day: Equator experience, Igongo Cultural Centre and Rwenzori ranges

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth National park, Big game safari Drive

You will have morning breakfast or have your breakfast packed; you will go for the morning game drive and see game in their wild state, you view 80% of the the big five animals, lions, leopards, elephants, cape Buffalos and others animals like Hyenas warthogs, Sitatunga antelopes, Uganda Kobs, topi , water bucks, giant forest hogs and many smaller animals in this park, you will return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch, enjoy a boat cruise on Kazinga channel from here you will enjoy game like hippos, crocodiles, various bird species including beautiful flamingos, Pelican, shoebill, Payrus Gonolek and at Kazinga channel banks. After the amazing boat cruise, you will return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable National park

In the morning after breakfast, you will transfer to Kyambura Gorge, from where you will track Chimpanzees for 2 hours, after the amazing experience with the chimpanzees, you will have early lunch and then continue to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will reach after a 4 hours’ drive, you will then check in to your hotel room freshen up and relax, Dinner and overnight at Wagtail Safari lodge, Nkuringo Safari camp, Chameleon Hill Lodge for lowest, Midrange and Luxury.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

In the morning, you will have a health breakfast and go for briefing at the tracking headquarters where they be advised about the activity before you start tracking. Gorillas are tracked in groups of 8 people For this activity you are required to be in perfect health and physically fit as it requires energy, you are also advised to have strong boots, drinking water and in rainy seasons, raincoat and head gear. The activity is challenging but very fulfilling when you see gorillas, once you find them, you will enjoy them for a full hour see their playful behaviour and interesting ways of life, you also take pictures. After the thrilling experience with the gorillas, you will return to the lodge for your late lunch, relax a bit and later in the evening go for a community walk interact with them and experience their traditional ways of life. Alternatively you can go for Batwa experience; the Batwa experience is organised the Batwa Development programme, this is a fascinating cultural encounter with Batwa Pygmies where an adult around 1.5meters tall providing an insight about their tradition and cultural practices. After you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and parked drinking water all day.

Day 5: Return to Kampala/ Entebbe

In the morning, you will have breakfast and thereafter start your journey back to Kampala through Mubende - Mityana road. Lunch will be en route and you will reach Kampala / Entebbe in the early evening.
